The GOV issued a Red Flag Warning in SC. We might be unable to launch this weekend (8-9 March).
 
Update: We will decide tomorrow. We should have an update in the morning from the State. We will fly if we can, but we will not risk the field.
 
Were just received clearance to fly and the burn ban is cancelled. We are good to fly. It will be a bit windy.
 
I'm planning to attempt L2 Saturday morning, sims to just over 4000', with Jolly Logic chute release set to 700ft, winds are currently forecasted at around 12mph at that time. Does this sound like a safe bet, or would there be a risk of drifting off the field?
 
It's a big field so you are probably OK. If possible, put a tracker in it. I do have transmitters and batteries. If necessary, I can get up there but my receiver died and the replacement hasn't arrived yet. Let me know ASAP.

Thx, that would be great if you could. If not, I have a drone, would I be able to find it from the air?
 
I'll be heading up. Not planning on flying anything. Start at 9:00 or 10:00?

I don't have the receiver.
 
With winds exceeding 20mph around 1pm (according to Ventusky), what is the likelihood of launching an L2? Will the field close or will it be played by ear?
 
Sorry. I did not see this. We flew will 4 pm.
 
Once I found out that he hasn't even built the L2 rocket I left. I wasn't planning any flights. With that wind, the rockets must have been going everywhere, even after they landed.
I still didn't get his real name :( He said he was going to take the L2 test today. Maybe you have a record.
 
We had a decent day. Only 2 rockets in the trees.
 
Any record of L2 tests or flights? Didn't stay because of the wind.
